SUMMARY:
The Search Marketing team is focused on developing innovate solutions to support our production and operational teams including sales, finance, and external partners. This position offers challenging opportunities to leverage your strong web design experience to deliver world class core Ad Center platform to the Search Marketing organization. You must be well-experienced in all aspects of web design including information design, site design and page design. The person must be able to create wire frames, visual designs and HTML mock ups. We are looking for hands on engineer who enjoys working within a fast paced startup type environment. This position requires a great eye for design. The position is a 100% hands on individual contributor who needs to have an "own the project" attitude.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The job entails taking a few user-provided details and applying artistic abilities to design and craft web sites that are pleasing to the eye and functional. The web designer will work directly with the Product team to determine project scope and specifications. The person will conduct research, design, and create dynamic web sites using tools such as Dreamweaver, Macromedia Flash, Macromedia Fireworks, or Photoshop. Person is expected to develop HTML, JavaScript, and a variety of graphics packages to implement parts of the sites functionality. The tasks for this position require the use of creativity and technical ingenuity to solve problems. Associated activities include requirements development, research and analysis, site architect and design, artwork development, site production and testing. Candidate needs to create web applications for maximum usability and is passionate about developing visually appealing and interactive graphical user interfaces.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Minimum 8 years of experience in web design in creating rich interactive user interface.
Design skills
• Excellent knowledge of web-based UI design with tableless HTML, CSS & JavaScript coding
• Experience in graphic design, layout principles, design concepts, composition skills
• Proficient with design tools like Dreamweaver, Macromedia Flash, Macromedia Fireworks Photoshop, Illustrator
• Solid understanding of browser compatibility, UI performance, and deployment considerations
• Ability to quickly create working mockups from wire frames, screen designs, & prototypes
• Experience with Web 2.0 User Interfaces; W3C standards and specs
• Desirable experience in developing email templates
Development skills
• Experience with AJAX, Java Server Pages (JSP) and XML/XSLT programming
• Knowledge of UI frameworks and techniques such as Apache Wicket, JSF, JSTL, AJAX, etc.
• General web: HTML, DHTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, HTML DOM
Soft Skills:
• Fast learner and quick ramp up on new technologies
• Organized, self-motivator, great communicator and detail oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills at the business and technical level
• Strong work ethic, commitment and team work
• Ability to multi-task with little supervision
• Able to work flexible hours, especially during product launches and production issues
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 8 years of experience
BS in Computer Science or equivalent (Masters is a plus)
