Job Description:
As an experienced Database Engineer, we are looking for an individual with a wide breadth of database development experience and skills to be part of the database team. Someone who also has some knowledge and experience with Search Marketing and analytics would be our ideal candidate.
Job responsibilities include all tasks and responsibilities associated with being a Data Warehouse Engineer including (but not limited to) the following:
• Perform complex data integration within large distributed open source data platforms between different OS and data platform using Hadoop job tracker
• Hands on knowledge with multiple large scale distributed data platforms such as SQL server, Oracle, TeraData and Hadoop distributed file systems
• Good knowledge with Unix and Linux scripting including data manipulation tools
• Design, implement and deliver solutions that meet the data architect and product requirements
• Contribute to the technical design of databases including schema and stored procedures
• Employ best database development knowledge to address performance, scalability and efficiency issues with large data warehouse databases.
• Respond to and solve technical problems
• Work with application developers to create and update database components
Must have Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in Data warehouse development and engineering experience
Must have 3 years of commercial data warehouse programming hands on experience in:
• Hands on experience with Hadoop distributed file system
• Experience with Hadoop/MapReduce
• Expert knowledge developing and debugging in C/C++ and Java
• Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Python, and shell scripts
• Experience with file systems, server architectures, and large distributed systems
• Excellent knowledge of Java environments including memory management, garbage collection
• Experience using open source performance testing / load generation tools
• Benchmarking and optimizing software like Lucene and Hadoop is a strong plus
• Knowledge of query plan analysis / tuning, contention/locking analysis and tuning
• Hands on experience with Hadoop job tracker creation to extract data from Hadoop file systems
• Data Warehouse Development in open source environment
• Hands on data operation and scripting within Java and Linux and Unix systems
• process oriented with strong communication and documentation skills
• query tuning, optimization, monitoring, data backup and recovery
• Advance knowledge with standard Transact-SQL/T-SQL
Nice to have Requirements:
• Developing SSIS packages, Reporting services, Dashboard reports and Email Reports
• Transact-SQL/T-SQL in SQL Server 2005 environment, complex queries, stored procedures, functions and other related system objects
• SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) - 2005 OLAP experience including design and deployment of complex cubes and writing MDX queries
• SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
• Experience as a developer in other database, data warehouse technologies is a definite plus – MySQL, Oracle, Microstrategy, Business Objects, TeraData
• Experience as a programmer in Java, Linux, Unix, Hadoop technologies is a definite plus

Excellent written and verbal communications skills at the business and technical level
Strong work ethic, commitment and team work
Ability to multi-task with little supervision
Able to work flexible hours, especially during product launches and production environment issues
EDUCATION:
BS in Computer Science or equivalent (MS a plus)
