DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a strong software engineer to lead our team of web developers tasked with the care and feeding of our flagship website.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead front-end development on our website, including hands-on code development
• Mentor other engineers and help build out the team
• Plan and manage team sprints
• Work closely with the Product team to shape functional requirements and determine deliverables
• Create and contribute to open source projects
• Communicate status and escalate issues
QUALIFICATIONS
• 6+ years experience in Web development
• 3+ years using PHP
• Excellent experience leading other developers
• Solid experience with HTML, JavaScript, CSS and OO programming
• Knowledge of PHPUnit and test-driven development desirable
• Knowledge of Python, Solr/Lucene, Git, Memcache, SOA is a plus
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or similar/relevant field preferred
