DESCRIPTION
We are collecting more and more data every day and we need someone to spearhead our data storage and mining strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Deal with tons of data
• Propose and implement solutions for analytics, data mining and log storage/processing
• Coordinate with the ops team to ensure our Hadoop cluster is happy
REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience with storing terabytes of data in Hadoop
• Able to write map/reduce jobs by hand
• Knowledge and experience with tools like Hive, Pig etc
• Ability to coordinate with various teams to fulfill their reporting & data mining needs
• Some experience administering a decent sized Hadoop cluster
• Have cooked up A/B testing & analytics strategies in the past
• Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or similar/relevant field preferred
