Network Engineer

Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technologies professionals is working in conjunction with one of the busiest web companies in the world located in San Francisco on a permanent job opening. They are seeking to fill several Network Engineer positions as well as senior/director level, with people who have a passion and interest in network engineering to help them build and maintain the infrastructure that keeps their site running.

Details:
Their system infrastructure includes Unix, Python, Hadoop, Casandra, Rabbitmq, puppet, etc dealing with complex/large scale networks requiring the latest tools in architecture and development.


Responsibilities:


You will be helping support our internal infrastructure used by developers, r&d and operations as well as maintaining public infrastructure used by millions of people a day.
Manage physical and logical configuration of all network devices including: switches, load balancers, and routers
Work closely with all functional groups to maintain and build our infrastructure
Monitor network statistics to proactively stay ahead of the growth curve

Qualifications:



Minimum of 4 years hands on working experience
BS degree preferred
Switching/routing configuration including: Vlans, Spanning Tree, BGP, OSPF, VRRP,
Scripting/programming (Python, Perl, or Shell)
Experience with application load balancing (F5 BIG IP)
Network monitoring tools and network configuration skills ( DNS, SNMP, Nagios)
Good understanding of common ip protocols: TCP, UDP, ICMP
Basic UNIX knowledge
Able to lift at least 40 lbs

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
